Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2...Arrived Early!!

I’m happy now…

Yes it’s arrived at my door on probably the best possible day…a Saturday:-) The highly anticipated game was destined for delivery on 10/11/09 but has arrived early probably due to the UK postal strikes or lack of them as they were called off hence the early arrival.

I’m not typing anymore I’m off to play….Laters.

Listening. To: The Temper Trap - Conditions

It’s time for me to rave on about my new favourite piece…

I knew nothing of this band until today which I know is both bogus and sad but I did make up for it as soon as I heard one track from them. Whilst watching 4Music today on my iPhone a track came on which made me think, hmmm this is catchy.

If anyone has actually read any of my previous posts which are music related you would already know that I like my uplifting music or should I say music that makes you feel good no matter what the genre.

The Temper Trap are another band which fit well in to my taste they describe themselves as  A cappella/Drum & Bass/ which maybe true however listening to the debut album ‘Conditions’ I wouldn’t say there’s much of either. If it’s drum & bass its mellow and if it’s  A cappella then what is with the instruments? I’m not knocking the band or the album in any way though like I said it fits well in to my taste and I’m here to big it up…Big Time.

Lead by frontman Dougy The Temper Trap have been floating around Australia(not literally) since 2005 embedding there sound on as many Ausie ears as possible however they have remained fairly unknown in the UK. That was until they hooked up with Jim Abiss who had also copped ears on them, the legendary producer behind the likes of Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian has definitely added his touch and his very distinct sound comes out on the debut album.

Anyway enough of me chatting about it and enough of you reading, go and download yourself a copy (legally of course) ‘Conditions’ was released in the UK on 10th August 2009.

I have added the link to their MySpace page below so you can check out some of there tunes and also the Spotify Link to you can listen to the album on there.

Enjoy…

Popular reblog this one, Jeff Rock’s post taking a look at the new iPhone App V1.1 which has been submitted to the App store.
Expect this to hit your phone in a week or so…
jeffrock:

Tumblr iPhone 1.1 Sneak Peek
Now that 1.1 has been submitted to the App Store, I figured everyone would like to know what’s coming in the new version. Here’s a preview!
Video posts. Choose from your camera roll or capture a new video right from the app (iPhone 3GS only).
Native editing. Need to add tags or update a post on the go? Just tap the ‘edit’ button on a post in the Dashboard to load it up in a native post editor.
Search. Supports searching across Tumblr, in your Dashboard or on just your posts.
Built-in web browser. No more losing your place when you tap a link in Dashboard. Now a web browser will pop up and let you investigate the interwebs.
Post upload status. Never wonder how long it’s going to take that Audio post to upload again.
Post geotagging. Even I’m not sure what this is for, but I’m sure that it’s going to be awesome.
Rewritten Dashboard tab (replaces the Sites tab). See all your posts from each of your blogs, including drafts and queues.
Rewritten Advanced Post Options. New support for Save as draft, Add to Queue, Publish on, Custom post URL’s, Send to Twitter and Ask a question.
Dashboard now only reloads on command. Not every time you tap the tab. Sorry about that one :P
Better quality photo posts. Photos are now sent with less compression.
New bookmarklet format for links. More info coming once 1.1 goes live.
Bug Fixes:

Fixed a bug where a post that has been saved for later can become corrupted.
Fixed a bug where Photo posts can cause crashes.
Fixed memory leaks.

There’s even more, but most of it is stuff you won’t see. Much of the core of the application was rewired, re-factored, re-plumbed, simplified and enhanced. The end result being a snappier, more flexible code base that’s ready for all the stuff coming in 1.2 and beyond.
We’ll let you know once it goes live on the App Store!

Talking of having to spend the money I managed to get it for a respectable £37.89 which isn’t bad at all when you think its going to be a wallet hammering £55 on release day.

If you have no idea what I’m on about(you must have been living under a rock the last year) check out the HD multi-player video below…

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released on 10/11/09 and is available to pre-order now.

LIVE Freeview TV for the iPhone hits the UK

tvcatchup.com

Now this does interest me, being a regular user of tvcatchup.com I have been following their recent submission of an iPhone App to Apple and as of yet there is still no word from the big man like SJ!

Well to chill us out a bit during the sometimes prolonged period of time it takes Apple to agree to an App for it’s store, tvcatchup.com have released a Web App allowing iPhone users in the UK to get a sneak peak at what the actual iPhone App will look like and believe me… its very niiiice!!!

Although there are only a limited number of channels compared to it’s desktop counterpart its a start and a good start at that, the channels are very good quality if not better than those on the BBC’s iPlayer also don’t forget we’re talking LIVE TV right here.

The web app is apparently in beta for a seemingly short period of 2 days but trust me its not going to be long before we’re all watching live tv on our iPhones in all it’s digital glory.

Did someone mention something about a radio coming to the iPhone? sorry thats just 2000-and-late.
